This book was AMAZING. Historical fiction about the Berlin Wall going up basically over night. Gerta and her family live in East Berlin and are thinking about leaving for West Berlin. Her father and one of her brothers visit West Berlin for the weekend to try to find a place for them to live, but before they can get home the wall is erected. For four years Gerta wonders about her father and brother until one day when she sees them on the other side of the wall. - Madison
